Using the Bulletin Board

When transcribing you may come across words or abbreviations which you are unsure how to tag. The first place you should look is always the Estoria de Espanna Transcription Guidelines wiki. Here you will find lots of information, and far more tags than are covered in this introductory course.TC Wiki.png

However, if your question is not covered here in the Wiki, you should then look in the Bulletin Board. Look through the titles of the existing threads. Someone else may have asked your question and you may find the answer there. If not, you can ask your question by posting a new thread.Post a new thread.png

In the subject box write a short, clear description of the topic of your question.

Then in the body box you can ask your question. Be sure to write in which manuscript, folio and line your question relates to. It is also helpful if you can upload an image by clicking on 'attach files' so other people can see exactly what you mean.

Make sure you mark your question as a question. That way, on the main bulletin board screen your question will show as requiring an answer. Other people can then look at your question and answer it. Make sure your question is not anonymous, and click on 'subscribe me' so that when someone answers your question you will get an email.

When someone has answered your question you need to go back onto the bulletin board and mark their answer as a response. Your question will then show up as 'resolved'.

It is a good idea to keep a note of the questions you have asked on the Bulletin Board. That way you can keep an eye on when your question has been answered and make sure your transcriptions are as accurate and complete as possible.
