Canvas Dashboard

The Dashboard may be the first thing you will see when you log into Canvas. You can also access your dashboard at any time by clicking the 'University of Birmingham' logo in the top-left. (You may have missed the dashboard this time around by following a direct link into this Online Induction Module course).

The Dashboard helps you see what is happening in all your courses and allows you to figure out what to do next.

 

Global Navigation

The global navigation menu provides you with quick access to all of your courses, groups, assignments etc. This toolbar is always available wherever you are in Canvas, allowing you to quickly move between your courses and groups seamlessly.

Personal Tool Corner
This is where you access your personal area, which includes your conversation inbox and settings. You can also access Canvas Help and Findit@Bham (library resources) from here.

Global Activity Stream
The Global Stream contains recent activity from all of your 'courses', including announcements, discussions, assignment notifications, and conversations. This helps you to stay on top of what is going on in your courses and quickly navigate to the most recent and relevant information.

Sidebar
The Sidebar contains three helpful feeds: To Do, Coming Up and Recent Feedback.
