Pride Not Prejudice - Race Event November 2020
The College of Arts and Law hosted their first Pride Not Prejudice inclusivity event of the academic year on Friday 6th November. Pride Not Prejudice is a panel event that explores, discusses, and responds to books that have an equality, diversity, and / or inclusivity theme at their heart. For this event we focused on the theme of race . Based on staff and student votes, the two shortlisted books we discussed were; Natives: Race and Class in the Ruins of Empire by Akala and Girl, Woman, Other by Bernardine Evaristo. Additional book recommendations from our audience. With special thanks to our speakers and organisers; Antonia Parker-Smith, Daniel Stone, Emma Flint, Gayatri Deshpande, Helen Murray, Israel Tamale and Tara Sutton. |
