On 2 December 2021, we ran a PG Skills training session on 'adaptability' and its importance in the modern workplace.

This training session was led by Performance Psychologist Andrew Dewar (PhD UoB alum, 2012) to help you to understand, develop, and leverage the skills of adaptability and flexibility so that you can show employers that you are capable of flexing to changing circumstances.

The Covid pandemic has taught us just how much work situations can change - and fast. This has emphasised why, now more than ever before, employers value the qualities of adaptability and flexibility in potential new employees and seek out people with these skills.

This training session aims to help you:

Define adaptability, flexibility and resilience
Recognise reasons why these qualities are valued by employers
Identify how you will have already developed these qualities through your postgraduate studies
Practise applying adaptability and flexibility to real-life work situations (via a case study activity)
Demonstrate your adaptability, flexibility and resilience in applications and interviews
