Are you up for trying something different?

Whether you are looking to generate innovative ideas to solve problems in your academic work, your research, your current job, or a business idea, this workshop will help you develop your innovative problem-solving skills and techniques for idea generation. This highly practical workshop is specifically designed to help Postgraduates gain insight into innovation and creativity and the importance of this in the workplace.

You will come away with practical insights and tips which you can immediately put into practice during your academic studies, in one of our programmes (like Intercampus Enterprise Competition2025, Masters consultancy Challenge or the Emerging Researcher Innovation Challenge), or even to take the first step to your business start-up or for setting up as a freelancer.

The session will contain 3 mini fun interactive activities to nudge you out of your comfort zone and conventional way of thinking. You will be up on your feet, engaging with other students, designing and creating solutions, innovating and inventing futuristic imaginative ideas without resource barriers, all with a view to ignite your ability to devise innovative solutions to problems. 

The workshop is designed to help you:

  • Recognise the importance of innovation/ innovative problem solving and why it is relevant to both your studies/research, and in the workplace.
  • Use some innovation techniques and understand how you can apply these in your current and future work.

  • Demonstrate an innovative mindset in job applications and interviews.

  • Get a taster of innovation and find out how you can take this further by taking part in Intercampus Enterprise Competition 2025, Masters Consultancy Challenge or the Emerging Researcher Innovation Challenge
