Introduction to Unit 1: Immune Checkpoint Blockade - a gamechanger in the clinic

In this Unit, you will learn why, for some cancers, immune checkpoint blockade (ICB) treatments have been such a 'game changer' in the clinic.

Section Learning Outcomes

The learning outcomes (LO) for Unit 1 are as follows:

LO 1. An understanding of how treatment of two cancers (melanoma and lung cancer) has been affected by ICB therapies
LO 2. A grasp of the impact of the first clinical trials of ICB therapy in each cancer
LO 3. An appreciation of the potential impact of successful responses to ICB therapy on a patient, and some of the potential side effects that may be encountered
