Pause for Thought 7: Setting up Canvas Notifications
Canvas is designed to be a responsive system and therefore depending on your personal settings will email you with a variety of notifications. By default the system will email your University email account. If you wish to receive notifications to your personal or work email accounts then you are advised to update the details in settings.
Updating your Preferred Email Account
Step 1: From the black left hand navigation bar select the Account icon
Step 2: Click on the Settings link
Step 3: Click on the + Email address option (right hand side of your screen)
Step 4: In the box that appears enter your preferred email (work or personal) in the email address box followed by clicking on the blue Register email button
Step 5: Canvas now emails you with a confirmation link. To finish registering, click the link in that email. Make sure to check your spam box in case it got filtered.
Step 6: Now select Notifications from the Account menu. You should now browse the notification options and set the frequency for your preferred email account.
