Abstract

In this interactive training session participants will explore the use of coaching skills, in the context of personal tutoring, and will have the opportunity to practice using a coaching model with other participants.

The session will cover:

the role of performance coaching in the context of personal tutoring
an introduction to the GROW model of coaching
skills practice using the GROW model

Pre-session preparation:

Think, in advance of the session, of an issue or challenge you have faced within tutorials. You will use this within your skills practice.

Note: Dealing with students in distress is outside the scope of this session.
