Abstract:

This session will explore the results of a large-scale survey conducted pre- and post-pandemic (19/20 & 20/21) providing an insight into student engagement with academic activities, staff and their peers during their transition to university. We will discuss how this engagement may relate to their background, their sense of belonging and experiences as a UoB student.

This interactive session may be of interest to colleagues (academic and professional services) with an interest in, or responsibility for: designing and delivering transition activities; curriculum design and development to support diverse groups of students; student support and wellbeing; and access and widening participation, success and progression. After discussing the results of the survey there will be the opportunity to further explore the experiences of different colleagues in their work to support students across the university.
